Energy grant opportunity for Maryland producers

DFA Energy is pleased to promote a program being offered by the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and EnSave that provides financial support for energy efficiency projects in the dairy sector. MEA grants assist with the costs of installing eligible energy-efficiency technologies commonly found on the dairy, including compressors, lighting, motors or variable-speed drives. Below is additional information on the program:

  • Competitive grant program offers up to 50 percent of the cost of an energy-efficiency project, with a minimum project size of $25,000 (maximum grant is $200,000)
  • Projects must achieve at least 20 percent energy savings within the facility
  • Applications are due March 14

To apply or to learn more about eligible projects, Maryland producers should contact George Harper with DFA Energy at 816-801-6146 or by email at geharper@dfamilk.com. For more on MEA’s program, visit energy.maryland.gov/Business/mathiasag/index.html.
