Conference call discusses funding options for energy enhancements

On November 7, DFA Energy invited producers who had undergone energy audits to participate in a conference call to discuss available funding for energy enhancements.

During the call, a representative from the Natural Resource Conservation Service explained federal funding opportunities for a variety of improvements recommended during typical audits, including lighting, plate coolers, scroll compressors, variable speed drives and motors. An official from EnSave, a leading energy consultant, offered tips on navigating the application process.

Through NRCS’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), producers can apply for refunds of up to 50-75 percent of the cost of energy improvements.
