NYSERDA announces anaerobic digester and solar incentives

DFA Energy is pleased to promote information on an initiative by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) that provides financial incentives for New York dairy producers to develop renewable energy equipment for their operation.

For newly installed anaerobic digester systems, NYSERDA has increased the maximum incentive to $2 million depending on the size of a project. Funding is being offered through a production incentive of $0.025/kWh paid for the first 10 years of operation in addition to a capacity incentive payment based on the equipment size (kW) of the system. Application packages must be received by NYSERDA on or before January 31, 2013 or until all funding has been fully committed.

NYSERDA is also accepting financial assistance for new solar projects that provide dairy producers with a three-year incentive that covers 50 percent of the installed cost of a solar project with a maximum incentive of $3 million. Producer should be aware that funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Application packages must be received by NYSERDA on or before March 14, 2013 or until all funding has been fully committed.
