Energy grant opportunity for Maryland producers

DFA Energy is pleased to promote a program being offered by the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) and EnSave that offers financial support for energy efficiency projects in the dairy sector. DFA members have an opportunity to apply for MEA grants ranging from $25,000 to $200,000 to assist with the costs of installing eligible energy-efficiency technologies commonly found on the dairy, including compressors, lighting, motors, or variable-speed drives. Below is additional information on the program:

  • Competitive grant program offers up to 75 percent of the cost of a energy-efficiency project; with a minimum project size of $25,000 (maximum grant is $200,000);
  • Projects must achieve at least 15 percent energy savings within the facility;
  • Application deadline is September 28 with energy-efficiency upgrades being completed by April 1.
